Electrical
current :
The electrical outlets in the cabins and public
areas are 220V, 50~. (US standard is 110V, 60~)
Passengers will need to bring voltage converter
kit for any appliances that are 110V. There
is a 110V, 60~outlet for electric shavers in
the bathroom, however, this outlet will not
provide sufficient wattage for most appliances.
Gratuities:
Gratuities are not included
and are at each passenger's discretion. There
will be designated envelopes in each cabin and
reception at the end of the voyage. All tips
are divided equally among the crew members onboard.
A guideline of $10.00-$12.00 USD per passenger
per day would be appropriate.
Medical
attention:
All passengers are strongly
advised to take up insurance covering illness
and accident. Passengers requiring special medicine
should bring it aboard with them.
Medical doctor will be on call aboard the MS
Andrea during all Antarctic cruises.
Smoking:
Smoking is not permitted in the cabins or public
areas. Smoking will only be permitted outside
in the open air.
